Houston's highly accomplished modern dance performance troupe Suchu Dance is getting ready to perform nationally, and to kick it all off, cordially invites you to attend its 2008 Spring Thing garden party on Sunday, April 6, 2008, 4 to 7 pm. Mind you, this is definitely not your ordinary garden party, and, well, Suchu Dance is definitely not your ordinary dance company. The goal? For everyone to have a blast outdoors at the gorgeous Gardens of Bammel Lane in River Oaks, enjoying delectable bites and libations, great live music, and a number of fun activities for the kid in you. Come dressed for action and jump into the fun!

What you can expect:

•the soulful, funky vibes of the band Quiet on the Set, pulling you onto a tree-shaded dance floor

•games and activities such as Twister™ (for up to 20 simultaneous players!), four-square, Boggle™, and the ever popular "I am a Suchu Dancer" green-screen technology, dance action photo-op (whew, that's a mouthful!) with commemorative photo for you to take home

•fantastic raffle drawings throughout the party

•an amazing spread of yumminess provided by La Strada, Zabak's Mediterranean Cafe, Kenny & Ziggy's New York Delicatessen Restaurant, Arcodoro Restaurant, Antone's World Market and Restaurant, Euro-Mid Specialty Foods, and Barefoot Wine.

The price for admission is quite reasonable: $45 singles, $125 couples, $400 for a table of six, and $1000 for a table of ten. But hurry… prices go up after this coming Monday, March 31. Each admission includes with it a certain number of drink/activity tickets, and it's all for a really good cause: to help raise funds for Suchu Dance's out-of-state touring to Emory University in Georgia and the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in Massachusetts later this year.

Prefer to volunteer and attend the event for FREE? Then please e-mail us. We'll set you up with a time and a task on April 6, and promise you'll be free of responsibilities for at least half of the event so you can enjoy youself carefree.

Can't attend? Then consider donating instead to help send Suchu on the road and represent Houston nationally. Every little bit helps, and there's no such thing as a donation that is too small!
